Dave Clarke (stage host)
Dave Clarke is a DJ with a mile wide anarchist streak and punk in his soul. Dave Clarke was born and raised in Brighton, England, but currently resides in his adopted home of Amsterdam. After being crowned ‘The Baron of Techno’ by BBC Radio 1’s John Peel, Dave remains one of the biggest players in the harder techno scene, and is ready to bring his relentless techno temple back to Mysteryland for the second year in a row.
Amsterdam-based DJ, producer, and promoter Jeff Rushin’s ongoing affair with electronic music began somewhere in the 90s. After delving deeper into the world of electronic, techno quickly evolved from a hobby into an addiction and ended up becoming a lifestyle for him. Rushin injects a sense of depth, warmth, and energy into both his productions and performances which you can experience in the flesh when he steps on stage at the Dave Clarke area.
While growing up, Marcel Fengler was fascinated by the hip-hop culture, breakdance, and graffiti art. After the Berlin wall came down, his interests shifted towards techno music and the art of DJing. He began playing records during the 90s and went on to become one of the first resident DJs of Berlin’s famous Berghain in 2005. Immerse yourself in Marcel’s versatile and dynamic soundscapes at Dave Clarke’s stage.
Within the darkest corners of Mysteryland, Miss Kittin’s infectious blend of harder edged techno, rave classics, Chicago, acid, and Detroit techno, will make the realm of Dave Clarke crumble to its core.
We’re proud to have Rebekah back at Dave Clarke for the second consecutive year in a row! Celebrating 20 years since her first appearance behind the turntables, Rebekah has established herself as one of the leading exponents of techno currently operating on the global circuit. Her love affair with the genre stretches back to the legendary Que Club in her hometown of Birmingham where she drew influence from the likes of Dave Clarke, Derrick Carter, Richie Hawtin, and Billy Nasty.
ROD is the alter-ego of Rotterdam based Benny Rodrigues, currently one of the most popular and inspiring electronic music artists of the Netherlands. Known for his versatility, Benny has chosen this additional artist name to clearly define the more techno oriented side of his musical identity. ROD showcases all shapes and forms techno has to offer, and his versatility and genre-defining vibrations will make the walls of the Dave Clarke tent tremble on its foundation.
